The Office staff of 90 is multi-disciplinary, including qualified accountants and those with post-graduate degrees in other disciplines, such as lawyers, statisticians, sociologists, environmental specialists and economists.

We have a financial audit student program for students at the bachelor level who are actively seeking a professional accounting designation.
Our Office is an approved audit training officerecognized by all three accounting organizations. Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants, Certified General Accountants, and Certified Management Accountants.
At the same time as you are dedicating yourself toward obtaining your professional designation you will be acquiring valuable experience in the work of our Office. Our goal is to help you become a qualified and competent professional through a balance of training and experience.
We will assist you and compensate you when you are preparing for and writing your exams.
For students pursuing the Chartered Accountant designation, you will meet the necessary tax experience requirements through an external assignment with a public accounting firm during the tax season.
As a financial audit student, much of your training will come from different work assignments. You will be challenged by a wide range of work experiences in both large and small organizations, and with systems that range from manual to those driven by state-of-the-art computers. You will have the opportunity to work on audits and assignments throughout the provincial governmentin individual ministries and agencies, and in Crown corporationswhere you will gain invaluable experience.
Our screening criteria for students are as follows:
1) a junior student as some one who has:
if a CA student…completed all the prerequisites for the CASB program
if a CMA student…completed all the courses and ready to write the entrance exams for the two year program, and
if a CGA student…has completed the 3 rd level of the CGA program
For work experience, we look for 12 months exposure to accounting work, computer skills, writing skills, and teamwork skills.
2) for senior students we look for someone who has completed:

Depending on your background, you may select from a variety of options for specialization as a member of one of our Sectoral audit teams, however the organizational goal is to develop individuals that are proficient in all areas:
Financial audits, in which auditors provide independent assurance that the financial information provided to the legislature by the government is credible, and that government manages its financial affairs with integrity using sound financial controls;
Performance audits, in which auditors examine whether public money is spent wisely by governmentwhether value is received for the money spent;
Compliance audits, in which auditors assess whether the government is complying with legislation governing its financial, administrative, environmental and other activities, and is meeting expected standards of conduct.
Specialization in computer auditing.
Whatever your career choice, we will provide you with an environment in which you can develop your skills while advancing to more responsible leadership positions.
Applicants will have completed bachelor’s level training and be committed to actively seeking a professional accounting designation. Depending on the organization's need at the time, students may be hired at various levels in the certification education and experience path.
Applicants will possess an accounting designation, preferably supplemented by recent public sector auditing experience.
Applicants will typically possess an accounting designation; although specialized legal or environment training may be appropriate.
Applicants will have significant professional experience in performance auditing, program evaluation, operational review, management consulting or an equivalent discipline, complemented by relevant post-secondary education or a professional accounting designation.
Applicants will have completed formal education in computer science with a technical degree, diploma or certificate, and support experience, preferably for Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office products. Preference may be shown for those with financial and administration experience.
