René Pelletier is an executive director, information technology audit. He is responsible for overseeing the portfolio of IT general control audits for financial statement audits, IT performance audits and the office's data analytics practice. He is a key contributor to the office’s strategic direction for the use of IT in audit as well as the audit of technology in government. René has been with the office since December 2020.
René has over 10 years of experience working in legislative audit offices in Alberta and B.C. He has led performance audits in areas including health care and cybersecurity.
In addition to his work in legislative audit offices, he has several years’ experience providing information risk and technology consulting services with a large professional services firm. He also has 13 years of experience with the Canadian Forces Reserves in communication and information security roles.
René holds a number of internationally recognized IT certifications, including Certified Information System Auditor, Certified in Risk and Information System Control and Certified Information System Security Professional.
René has run a number of ultra-marathons and is looking forward to getting back into competing.
